Paul Crees and Peter Coe
Paul Crees and Peter Coe were contemporary British doll artists who worked as a team to create magnificent limited edition wax dolls in the tradition of Victorian doll makers. Both had a background in theater and their dolls show this, having a very dramatic presence and more often than not a theatrical theme. Their celebrity art doll likenesses, costumed as they were in parts from famous movies or operas, were award winning. In addition to the wax pieces they created in studio, they designed a series of vinyl dolls based on the Anne Rice vampire novels which brought their artistry and dramatic flair to a popular audience.
The box is signed by Paul Crees 1996
I have had this doll for over 20 years. This doll was designed by Paul Crees and Peter Coe. She is beautiful and is wearing a beautiful blue velvet gown. She is still attached but just by the corner tail of her gown to the blue cardboard backing. Please note that the box shows some wear and tear from storage. The plastic on the front of the box has come loose. This is a wonderful collector doll. From a smoke free pet free home.
