RARE 1980 Pioneer VP-1000 Laserdisc Player Powers Up w/ Remote FOR PARTS/REPAIR. Condition is "For parts or not working".
This player has been interesting to toy with but i am not inclined enough to mess with it any further and don’t want to mess it up. I recapped the power supply for the laser, the laser works great and i have gotten it to play only 1 frame of a disc (audio and video).
The issue witht his unit is that it will not go past 1 frame, it just continually plays the same frame in loop due to the the motor that moves the laser assembly not getting any voltage. The plastic gear for that motor was recently reglued and the unit will ship with a shipping screw to hold everything in place. I did put some screws back but i am still left with a handful so you will recieve a bag of those as well. I feel like someone can definitely get this thing running, its beastly heavy but its a tank and definitely has some style.
