The HDTHUNDER HD/SD-SDI-Based Editing with HDMI Monitoring Output from Grass Valley is a video card that offers nonlinear editing functionality in a PCI Express form factor. It also includes EDIUS nonlinear editing software to form a bundled solution. The card offers HD/SD-SDI inputs and outputs, an HDMI video output for full-resolution, real-time preview monitoring, and embedded HDMI audio for audio monitoring.
Other features include timecode input and output for accurate editing from field logs, reference input support for blackburst and tri-level sync, machine control for external VTR ingest, and optional VTR emulation software that lets you control an EDIUS editor like a VTR for direct playout from the workstation. This solution enables constantly synched, full-resolution preview of effects and content directly from the EDIUS timeline. It is designed to manage standard- or high-definition video. Other advanced features include unlimited video, audio, title, graphics layers, and real-time effects.

A follow focus is a focus control mechanism used in film and video cameras. It is ergonomic rather than strictly necessary; in other words it does not contribute to the basic functionality of a camera but instead allows the operator to be more efficient and precise. It is usually operated by a focus puller but some camera operators prefer to pull their own focus .
The mechanism works through a set of gears on the follow focus that are attached to teeth on the focus ring of the lens. These gears feed to a wheel which, when turned by a focus puller, will spin the teeth and thus the ring on the lens.
